Listen here to Pastor Ellery's sermon from Sunday October, 24, 2021 on Mark 10:46-52 about Bartimaeus, a beggar who is blind, and his encounter with Jesus. We hear three interesting quotes during this reading.
Bart’s screaming prayer, “Jesus, Son of David, Have Mercy on my!”
Jesus question to Bart, “What do you want me to do for you?”
And the message the crowd delivers to Bart as he sits there praying:, “Take heart; get up, Jesus is calling you!”
As you listen to the retelling of this story, what stands out to you?

In his teaching in Mark 10:2-16, Jesus refers back to the conclusion of the creation story in Genesis 2 -- the two become one, joined by God. The Pharisees try to trip Jesus up by asking a legal question about divorce. And we are left to reflect on God's intentions for creation and our own community. These are the Scripture readings for Sunday, October 3rd.

Monday Sep 27, 2021
Monday Sep 27, 2021
Join us for Pastor Ellery's Sermon from Sunday, September 26, 2021 on Mark 9:38-50 and Number 11:4-6, 10-16, 24-29. Jesus uses some hyperbole to make his point about removing sin from our lives and Moses, along with the Israelites, fall into the trap of complaining, so God gets the whole community involved in refocusing their lives on the work they are called to do.
